- A bit of History about Las
Mañanitas... and La Vagabunda
- We are a family of
restaurant owners, from Marina di Massa, Toscana, Italy, with more
than 40 years of experience in the gastronomy and hotel profession.
- In the year 1994 we heard
for the first time of Playa del Carmen, they told us of a charming
little fishing village, with white, Caribbean beaches and a Bohemian
atmosphere, soon we felt a deep desire to see that little charming
Caribbean village.
- In the year 1995 we
planned a trip of 6 months, passing through Venezuela, Colombia, Costa
Rica, Guatemala, Belize and as our final destination the Mayan
Riviera, passing through Tulum and last Playa del Carmen.
The first days
were unforgettable. Sun, sea and beach, we enjoyed to the last day of our
vacation. Since then Playa has changed like many of us, the development
that has come has been incredible and everyday a greater number of people
who want to move to live in this paradise in the Mexican Caribbean.
One day taking
a walk on fifth avenue we saw clients of us of our restaurant in Italy,
the surprise was very great, they said to us that they knew somebody who
was looking for personnel for the season.
Life always
takes us to a point where a decision can change us for the rest of our
lives. We decided to take a chance and to challenge our luck and try this
new experience.
We began to
work at Las Mañanitas and everything worked very smooth, we were able to
buy the licenses and became the owners in a few months. Now our
restaurants are among the best in Playa del Carmen.
Our dishes are
a mix of Italian, Mexican and international cuisine. Good chefs and well
trained waiters give a special touch to our restaurants. Good music,
accompanied with a tasty tropical cocktail place our restaurants amongst
the best in all of Playa.
